A singaporean man's dream...

While having dinner at far east plaza with my colleagues and having our usual Guys Talk, i was asked this question by Desmond, my old business accquaintance...

If given a choice, which would you choose to go after to spend the rest of your life with?

Option 1: A girl who is beautiful and whom you are in love with, but she don't like you and has been keeping you hanging there, and only seeking you when the person she likes hurt her. But in your eyes, she's the most beautiful person and the most ideal one for you. But from what you heard from other people, she is someone who needs a lot of love, attention, care, money, and basically, a taker in relationships.

Option 2: A girl who is just average in her looks, but who loves you a lot, whom you do not love at this current moment. But from what you heard, your friends has been telling you that she is a kind, gentle, caring, basically, the perfect wife that a man could ask for. But in your eyes, you only have the girl in option 1.

The rest of my colleagues were looking at one another... Haha, somehow, between guys, we all know the answer... Option 2!!!

The tired looks on our faces tells us that Most of us has been through a substantial number of relationships or encounters. And singapore women... sigh... has always been blasted in local newspapers for being so... unwomanly, demanding and materialistic...
Till the point where i think for a singaporean guy to get what he wants, he must have money and possessions. So no matter how ugly he is, as long as he cares for the girl and possess money to satisfy her, the girl, no matter how beautiful, would find him eligible for consideration.

One wonders how true this is... But between us, it has been a tiring process, to go to great lengths to get the ideal girl for ourselves and often ended up getting thrown into the abyss of no return. So now, it has become more of making the decision of having a low maintanance or a higher one. To drive a Ferrari or a Suzuki? To take up the committment of satisfying her or not?

This brings us back memories of the newspaper article that was featured just 3 weeks ago about the guys who are still single at their forties, lamenting how the singapore girls have refused to give them a chance because they earn enough to feed themselves only. For goodness sake, buck up in your careers then? Show them you can do it instead of behaving like a loser. Or you can even join the guy that lived like a king in vietnam, got the girl he wants with just pointing his finger. That should solved the problem.... aaahhh, time for the input of foreign talents huh? The cliche method that has been overuse time and time again...

Talent? What talent? Talented at producing babies? Hmmm... it could help singapore replenish its dwindling supply of labour isn't it? Alas, what pubilicity? Yet another government conspiracy...

Short term goal: Get all the single singaporean male married, regardless of local or foreign women and start producing babies!

Long term goal: Economical stability.

Well, not saying that we are desperate people over here, but seriously, something is wrong with the way "productive" singaporeans are socialising. Perhaps going back to the primitive era might solve the problem? hehe... I just need a club or something and find that chio bu walking on the streets haha... You get wat i mean...

As our discussion slowly trail off towards the numerous chio bus that passed by us, it has come to remind me that, we are after all, just guys who might be behaving like our very own version of "The born loser", but seriously, what do you girls think?
