"Guest appearance" at CHIJ Toa Payoh!

Hahaha... My blog seems very dead isn't it? haha... been too busy with projects and stuff and not to mention, this "babysitting" job...

I just received the pics from Eugenia, the girl on my left in the pic....
Received a few comments that my pose seems very girlie huh? But hey, i've to fit in with you guys er girls right? haha, keep getting this wrong, you are girls! not guys! haha...

Anyway, in a nutshell, i took up this one day, guest stint in CHIJ, as a GL(group leader) for their supposedly treasure hunt in orchard road! Seriously, i wonder wat issit that i may not know about orchard road right? i've been there like... so many times? ahha... thats where the tricky part is, they asked qns which are totally related to history and sights/monuments which are well hidden in corners and away from our eyes! I was totally defeated when i received the qn paper without the answer scripts! oh man, this is gonna be tough!

In addition, my credentials as a GL has yet to be tested, i mean... its my first time lor! wah lao, this bunch of girls are so unlucky to have gotten me la? i wonder how am i gonna lead them to victory lor...

Things started out rocky, i couldn't really project my voice clearly amidst all the chaos as i was delivering my intro speech to them, and they were not really that familiar with one another cos after all, they are only sec 1, and have been together for a little more than 5 months... die die... Getting them to organise themselves was like... inefficient or rather, ineffective...

And their team name was... "ROAR!~", haha, you shd hear them do their cheer which was somehow related to this name... hahaha... i think SJ will be very happy with this since she likes to announce this to the world all the time! hehehe.... with the foundations erected, its time to push on with our quest....

My idea of a treasure hunt didn't include that much walking, and yet, the distance we covered within that 5 hours could easily be 4 times wheelock to parkmall! haiz... keep fit sia...

probably because the girls weren't all that familiar with orchard, their checkpoints were mostly jumbled up! good thing they were quite cooperative with me whom they fondly called gor gor! haha... And i wonder how many blind eyes i gave them as they "gather" their answers... haha... you girls owe me big time!

Sorry if i offended anyone after we had some quiet moments and i began cracking jokes... haha, but i think that was somewhat part of a reason for u girls clicking well with me right? haha...

And when we got back with all the sweat and blood(courtesy of Lissa with her unhealed toe), we were quite amazed to find out that we came in 4th out of 24 teams! I think this is a very commendable result... considering... that its my first time... sheesh... haha, so guilty...

But it was well, i've never seen any other groups who actually stayed back to thank their GLs, take picture, surrounded one another to talk... except us! haha, so i'm comforted to know u girls, and i hope you all are just as well!

If you girls really want me back for next year's camp, do remember to msn me hor! hahaha...
